How did your professional experience in the world of wellness begin?
My experience in the world of wellness started with a path of self-realisation. After over 10 years as a make-up artist in the field of advertising, fashion, cinema and theatre, and as artistic director for national and international cosmetic companies, I decided to take on a new challenge. In 1991 I created a “wellness department” within the Riccione thermal baths. In just three years, this project became a huge success, both in terms of audience and of economic results, becoming a challenging professional adventure. It is on this basis that we laid the foundation of our first Wellness&Spa projects consulting and management company.
What are you skills?
My skills encompass both the technical and managerial domains, but with a creative outlook resulting from my background as artistic director. On the technical side, I have developed an innovative vision supported by a strong inclination towards architecture and design. From a management point of view, the direct experience in spa management allowed me to develop a strong understanding of business dynamics, management strategies and of the necessary skills to lead projects effectively. My skills combine in a synergy that allows me to deal with projects in the wellness sector with a complete and balanced perspective.
What do you offer to those who work with you today?
I created bbspa_Group with the goal of offering an all-encompassing consultancy to those who invest or already own a spa or other facilities that revolve around wellness. Our main goal is to make the spa profitable, offering a complete and bespoke method to manage every necessary process to achieve this result. We offer a turnkey solution, ensuring support and bespoke planning according to the clients’ needs and goals. Our method is developed through 4 business units: We Think, We Set up, We Design, We Manage. In this way, we make sure that each spa is designed, developed and designed with care, optimising every aspect to make the most of its potential and ensure lasting success.
Is it more suited for the world of B2B or B2C? Who are your target customers?
90% of our clients are B2B, because our special attention towards financial results and the strategies to achieve them allows us to give our best in professional projects. We have four types of clients: investors who have understood that wellness is an industry that allows great return on investment; managers of hotels who have understood that the spa can be a business unit that is not only strategic, but also profitable; architects who want to promote their work by combining it with our specific know-how; constructors of residential and/or tourist buildings who have understood that they can increase the value and sales speed by giving facilities a wellness-oriented identity.
What kind of consultancies have you been finalising lately?
We’re currently working on over 50 projects in 12 countries. The projects are varied: we go from thermal baths that intend to enhance the potential of their water to medical Spas that want to ride the wave of longevity; to 5-star hotels that want to keep welcoming high-spending customers; up to large City Spas that want to meet the needs of a fast-growing market for proximity wellness.
Who do you address?
Firstly our clients, but the partnership with the companies and professionals who allow us to deliver the expected results to our clients is as important. For 30 years, we have developed partnerships with the major players of the Wellness Industry, all the while safeguarding our independence and neutrality that are necessary to the consulting activity if we are to remain credible and effective over time. To characterise our projects with innovation and surprising elements, we adopted a “contamination” strategy, looking for know-how in sectors that are often far from the wellness industry. This approach allows us to integrate points of view, sensitivities, technologies and values that are sometimes unexpected, sometimes alike, with the goal of enhancing our projects and offering added value to our clients.
