Marcell Jacobs: the importance of recovery to get back on track
In athletics, every second counts. What makes the difference between an excellent performance and an injury isn’t just training intensity, but also recovery quality. Marcell Jacobs, Olympic 100 metres champion, knows it well: he’s currently working to get back on track in view of the World Championship 2025 in Tokyo. His goal is clear – recover as best you can to perform as best you can.
After an injury to his thigh suffered during a race in Miami in March 2025, Jacobs started a targeted rehabilitation program, supported by the medical team of the Italian Athletics Federation. The collaboration with Starpool, started in view of the upcoming World Championship, plays a key role in Jacob’s preparation to the event, thanks to our technologies for health and psycho-physical well-being.
“Recovery is no wasted time: it is part of the path that leads to victory”, wrote Jacobs on his social media. This philosophy deeply reflects our approach: considering recovery not as a pause, but as an active, essential, strategic phase of performance.
The preparation protocol implemented by the athlete before the Tokyo World Championship includes some of the most innovative solutions of the Health Innovation line by Starpool, among which Zerobody Cryo, Zerobody Dry Float and Molecular Hydrogen Booster. Three different tools, one only goal: favouring the deep regeneration of body and mind.
Zerobody Cryo takes advantage of the effectiveness of localised cold therapy to reduce inflammation and speed up muscle recovery. Zerobody Dry Float, on the other hands, offers an experience of dry floatation that reproduces the effects of reduced gravity and activates deep neuromuscular relaxation, improving sleep quality and focus. Lastly, the inhalation of molecular hydrogen acts as a powerful natural antioxidant agent and contributes to cell regeneration and cognitive well-being.

Innovative and synergical technologies that are validated by our constant scientific research activity and adopted by many athletes and international professional teams. In elite sport, actual improvement increasingly depends on the quality of regeneration.
Jacob’s return will be gradual, carefully supervised and guided by a clear goal: recovering his physical condition fully and risk-free, aiming at top performance in view of the Tokyo World Championship. His journey to recovery is a tangible example of how to listen to one’s own body, respecting its physiological time, and how relying on effective tools is a strategic choice for every athlete.
In our daily work, we believe that true strength lies not only in effort but in balance. Today more than ever, top-level athletic preparation is built through a new wellness culture, made of technology, awareness, and recovery as integral part of the performance itself.
