Children in the sauna and heat bath? Absolutely! In Northern Europe, children are taken to the sauna from 4 years of age. It is necessary to follow a few rules, but benefits will shortly follow: the organism will be stronger, the airways healthy and the thermoregulation trained.
Things to know:
• it’s necessary to be in good health
• don’t go in with an empty or too full stomach
• sit on the lower bench of the sauna, where the temperature doesn’t exceed 75° C.
• if you’re just starting out, don’t stay for more than 3 minutes per session.
After the sauna and the heat bath, the following cooling phase is especially important for children. You can either go out in the open air wearing a bathrobe, or use a soft shower of about 24-26 °C.
